If you haven’t been to the Chiefland Farmers Flea Market lately you might want to come on by this weekend and take advantage of the cooler weather. Remember your masks but if you don’t there are several vendors who make their own in a wide variety of colors and shapes. You can get your favorite team colors, cartoon characters, and even get a child and doll size set made to order. Walking around the market is great exercise and you just really never know what you may find that will tickle your fancy or fulfill a current need.
Happy hot, muggy, rainy, covid-virus, facemask wearing, the election year, and school back in session week. Been very busy around the area with the children going back to school or getting on their computers to do the video school thing. We hope everyone voted in the primaries and are on the lookout for school buses and small ones running around trying to see where they are going with their little masks on. Please be careful out there, keep you and your family as safe as possible and see you around the market!
We have finally reached the last weekend in July. Which is about halfway through the summer already. Schools will be trying to start back up next month and who knows what that is going to look like. Vendors are moving out and others are moving in. So you just never know what you are going to find here at the market. We have bargains galore, some great and others just so-so. We have new items, used items, and even a whole bunch of antiques as well. If you don’t find what you are looking for ask some of the vendors they may know where you can get what you looking for or may even have it themselves. Most of our vendors have extra items at home and/or in storage somewhere.
Hey, everyone out there. We hope you and yours are keeping cool, keeping safe, and maybe having a little fun while you can. It seems like most of the summer crops are in and it is time to take a little time off and take a vacation with the family. The springs along the Suwannee are still mostly browned out and the state parks are closing or limiting visitors for day use as well as camping. Finding places to go camping during the summer months is getting harder and harder to do these days as more locals are staying closer to home. Come on down to the market and pick up some camping supplies, fresh fruits and veggies, local honey, and even some pre-made meals.
It’s only another week till Father’s Day. If you need to shop for some unusual or ‘hard-to-find’ items for your dad come on down and see what we have available. For those with ‘Father-type’ people in their lives count as well. It is just a special set aside for those male counterparts of the family equation who have provided for us, taught us needed lessons or just been there when we needed them. Some of our readers no longer have those people in their lives, some are those people. It is still a great day to have a family meal, have a get-together, or just go out and spend some time outdoors. Barbecuing, camping, picnicking, boating, fishing and any other outdoorsy activity is great right now before the real stormy season begins. Get your supplies and equipment ready this weekend for the next!
